Preventative Maintenance Program Configuration (non-fleet assets) - Creating a New Work Ticket Template

A Work Ticket template saves a set of pre-populated values against a Preventative Maintenance program,

reducing the amount of data entry required when initiating a Work Ticket from a PM reminder.

Add New Template

To create a new Work Ticket Template, hit the + button against the Work Ticket Template field in the Edit Preventative Maintenance Program dialogue:

Enter the following information:

  • Template Name:  Enter a descriptive name for your Work Ticket Template.
  • Template Type:  Select the appropriate Template Type from the drop-down list.
  • Asset Category:  The asset category is fixed, and should already be populated based on the asset category you had selected when creating or editing a PM Program.
  • Checklist:  Select the appropriate checklist from the drop-down list (click here for more information about configuring SMP Checklists)
  • Description:  Enter a description of your Work Ticket template.
  • Authorised Officer:  Select the Authorised Officer you want to appear on all Work Tickets generated from this PM Template (optional).
  • QA Officer:  Select the QA Officer you want to appear on all Work Tickets generated from this PM Template (optional).
  • Work Details:  Enter the Work Details you want to appear on all Work Tickets generated from this PM Template (optional).

Add Work Items to a Template

Hit Add to add a new Work Item to the Work Ticket template:

Place a tick in the applicable Defect Type checkbox/checkboxes and select the corresponding Work Activity from the drop-down list.

You can choose multiple Defect Type/Work Activity combinations if required.

Each combination will be created as a separate Work Item on the Work Ticket Template.

Please click here for information about creating Defect Types, and here for information about creating Work Activities. Click 'Save' when complete to add the Work Items to the Work Ticket Template.

Once Work Items are added to the Work Ticket Template, you can enter an Estimated Quantity of the PM Work Item, and a Contact to assign to the PM Work Item.

This information will automatically appear on the Work Item when a Work Ticket is generated from a PM Program that uses this Work Ticket Template.
